About Us:

The Miller Group, a subsidiary of Colas Canada, is a Canadian leader in the construction and maintenance of transportation infrastructure since 1917.
We provide exceptional customer service and operational support using our time-proven construction methods and innovative technologies, alongside the highest quality products and materials.
We leverage our global network to foster positive relationships that make a lasting difference in the communities where we live and work. Minimum Qualifications:

  • 5+ year of experience in road and/or bridge construction
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Post secondary education in civil engineering
Day in the life:

In a fun-filled day as a quality control expert, you are the go-to person for ensuring everything is top-notch on our projects. You start off by joining meetings with suppliers and subcontractors, along with QC Administrators, to solve any issues that pop up.

Next, you team up with Contract Administrators to understand any challenges and make sure everyone knows who\'s responsible for what. You\'re the liaison extraordinaire! Building relationships with the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) is also part of your mission, as you work together to resolve issues, perform field inspections and get all the necessary paperwork submitted. When it comes to quality, you\'re on top of your game. You participate in preparing project quality management plans, supervise and assign tasks to QC Administrators, and support them in conducting audits and interpreting specifications.

Reporting is also a big part of your day. You review QC reports, identify action items, and assist in preparing nonconformance reports. You even provide quality statistics to help the Quality Managers with their monthly reports. To keep everyone on the same page, you facilitate QC team meetings where you share best practices and train QC Administrators on specs and contractual requirements.

And of course, you\'re always ready to jump in and tackle any issues that arise. Whether it\'s talking to different divisions about materials test results or resolving issues with the Project Teams and Quality Managers, you are there to save the day.
So, as a quality control superhero, you ensure that projects run smoothly, quality standards are met, and everyone is happy. With your superpowers, you bring order and excellence to the construction world!

This role is for you if you enjoy:
  • Critical thinking and driving solutions
  • Working with multiple internal and external stakeholders
  • Variety in your daily tasks
