Miller Maintenance proudly provides maintenance services on Area Maintenance Contracts for Ontario Ministry of Transportation throughout the province of Ontario. Our leadership in the Ontario Road and Highway Maintenance industry is based on our commitment to continuous improvement through education, innovation, safety, and training.

As an ERU Crash Truck Operator, You Will:

  • Respond to calls dispatched from MTO with urgency, complete incident reports, and liaise with the supervisor and MTO as needed
  • Provide traffic control at the accident scene. Set up and take down traffic signs
  • Respond to emergency situations such as spills, accidents, inclement weather, and assist in implementing an emergency plan as needed
  • Communicate with authorities at emergency scenes - Police, Firefighters, etc. and liaise with MTO to assess the need for additional resources
  • Assist in identification of deficiencies by regular daily patrols of the highways
  • Make minor repairs to the highway
  • Conduct daily circle checks on vehicles. Clean and maintain the vehicle and perform minor repairs
  • Maintain accurate documentation - hours of service, fuel records, incident reports, time sheets, logs etc.
  • Other duties as assigned
What You\'ll Bring:
  • Class D commercial license with air brake endorsement (Z)
  • Highway maintenance is considered an asset winter patrol
  • Emergency response experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of OTM Book 7 is considered an asset
  • Excellent team player to work productively in a highly functional team
  • Basic computer skills to navigate weather, equipment data, Miller and MTO work sites
  • Effective communication skills (both written and verbal) to accurately document daily activities, incident reports and deficiency logs
  • Willingness to work assigned day, night, and weekend shifts
  • Ability to lift heavy weights (up to 50 pounds)
  • Comfortable with working and driving in inclement weather conditions
