OVERVIEW
The Agency PR Manager is an important net-new role for The Kitchen. You will be our PR lead, establishing, developing, and nurturing positive relationships with trade publications (AdAge, Campaign, Strategy, etc.) across North America. You will be the owner of The Kitchen\xe2\x80\x99s story, always on top of opportunities to get our agency news out to the press, whether that\xe2\x80\x99s a key new hire, collaborating with a new brand or championing our breakthrough work. Through your positive connections with the press, you\xe2\x80\x99ll be able to sell-in stories that reinforce our agency\xe2\x80\x99s key messaging and narrative, always ensuring Kraft Heinz and its brands are portrayed accurately and in a positive light. You will also act as a PM for our award submissions, owning the awards calendar, work back schedule, processes & operations, and eventual submissions.

For this role, we need a positive self-starter, someone passionate about PR and helping to build the reputation of our agency and its leaders. You will have a collaborative spirit, love working with different teams and be an important ambassador for the brand of our creative agency and the work we do.

In this role, you will get to work closely with a wide range of teams, from strategy (writing of cases), creative (aligning on award submissions and case videos), The Kitchen leadership team (writing of trade stories, Q&As, thought leadership pieces), Kraft Heinz\xe2\x80\x99s internal PR team (ensuring our brand stories are aligned), as well as the creative operations team that you will be a valuable part of.

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
(In order of importance \xe2\x80\x93 the more senior, the more focused on PR you can be)
PR:

  • The agency\xe2\x80\x99s PR lead, establishing, developing, and nurturing positive relationships with ad trade publications (AdAge, Campaign, Strategy, etc.) across North America.
  • On top of any opportunity to get our news out to the press (new hires, new brands, org changes, etc.), collating and providing all information in an easily digestible format for journalists, successfully selling-in stories that maximize our publicity and reach.
  • Manage subscriptions to relevant trade platforms.
  • Identify any speaking opportunities for agency leaders and help with developing and distributing thought leadership pieces.
  • The Kitchen\xe2\x80\x99s key point-of-contact with Kraft Heinz\xe2\x80\x99s internal PR team for any trade related stories, ensuring their alignment anytime we\xe2\x80\x99re talking about our brands.
AWARDS:
  • Lead PM for our awards process, from owning the master calendar, workback schedules, pushing cases through writing, case video editing, helping collate results and the eventual submission.
  • Identify opportunities for our younger team members to develop their portfolio and get exposure to press and awards (e.g., Cannes\xe2\x80\x99 Young Lions, Facebook Hackathons, etc.)
  • Keeping the agency updated on award news and celebrating wins.
PROJECT / SOCIAL MANAGEMENT:
  • You may also be asked to PM, or support a PM, on internal projects where The Kitchen is required to support another Kraft Heinz team, e.g., helping corporate communications build creative assets for an event.
  • Manage The Kitchen\xe2\x80\x99s social channels and website, showcasing our best work and agency news.
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
  • 5+ years\xe2\x80\x99 experience at a PR firm, creative agency, or brand (in a PR role).
  • Existing connections with trade publications is preferred but if not, at least a good knowledge of the outlets and eagerness to start building those relationships.
  • Proven ability to write great copy with a nose for compelling stories and great media opportunities.
  • Very personable and positive, strong at developing and nurturing relationships.
  • Highly organized with an attention to detail (whether that\xe2\x80\x99s ensuring we\xe2\x80\x99ve ticked every award submission box or providing journalists with pertinent information at the right time, in an easily digestible format).
  • CPG experience desired but not required.
  • Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
  • A self-starter who proactively seizes opportunities and autonomously runs projects and workstreams.
  • No ego, down to earth, with a fun, positive and collaborative spirit.
