Testing Specialist

Reports to the Testing Manager on all matters. The Testing Technician is responsible for assisting with all testing processes and activities associated with new products, solutions or technologies.

Education

Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Building Science, Architectural or Civil Technology, Mechanical and/or Construction Management.

Years of Experience

Minimum 3-5 years of building sciences and/or R&D experience, in a construction and manufacturing setting; Familiar with NAFS/CSA-A440, ASTM, and OBC Testing Requirements; and Familiar with Glass/Window Wall Systems.

Working Conditions

Office, Plant and Site Work Settings; Work Environment requirements wearing PPE for all Plant/Site work and in certain other locations; Ability to conduct laboratory testing, including field testing, certification reporting and NFRC; Full Health and Safety training required (Working at Heights, WHMIS), and follow Health and Safety standards on site; Requires driving to site and carrying material; and Flexible to work OT as required.

Job Specific Duties

Complete technical assessments related to Railing and Window; Attend project site's and conduct site walks daily while auditing code, performance, and structural deficiencies; Champion mock-ups and assist with lab test; Performing AAMA/WDMA/CSA 101/I.S 2/A440 and NFRC laboratory tests; Conduct site reviews and site testing as required; Performing in house routine performance (air and water) test on all product lines; All test results record keeping and maintaining; Troubleshoot site issues to expedite corrective action and minimize down time; Download deficiencies and support the FMs with recommendations and executions; Complete certification and conformity testing and construction research and testing; Assist with equipment research, testing monitoring, and control; Assist the R&D team with product development and improvement; and Any other tasks assigned by the Testing Manager.
