About the role:

As a Test Engineering Intern, you'll apply your technical skills to support the planning, coordination, and execution of product testing activities. Working closely with experienced test engineers, you'll contribute to reviewing test protocols, documenting results, and identifying issues throughout the test process. This role offers hands-on experience with test development workflows, cross-functional collaboration, and vendor coordination, helping you build practical knowledge in a dynamic engineering environment.

Your responsibilities will include:

Analyze system requirements to design and develop test plans and protocols to ensure designs meet requirements. Conduct engineering and design performance tests. Analyze test results, detect issues and track root causes. Develop engineering and design verification test reports. Work with a cross-functional team. Ensure compliance of project deliverables to GSM and supports system owners during external audits. Work independently to plan and schedule own activities necessary to meet timelines, and communicate in a timely manner.

Required qualifications:

Undergraduate or master's degree in engineering or related field. Strong problem-solving skills in a team environment. An analytical and quantitative approach to work, as well as the confidence to influence people at all levels. Excellent organizational, planning, communication and collaboration skills. Strong documentation skills.

Preferred qualifications:

Technical knowledge of testing concepts for electrical/electro-mechanical equipment. Knowledge of ISO 13485 and FDA 21 CFR Part 820. Knowledge of ISO 14971. Knowledge of IEC 60601 series of standards.

Responsabilites

Coordonner les livraisons de fournitures d'essai et suivre l'evolution des flux d'essais de sterilisation, d'emballage et de fiabilite mecanique. Participer a l'examen des protocoles et des rapports d'essai pour s'assurer qu'ils sont complets et uniformes. Contribuer aux activites de depannage en recensant les problemes dans le flux des essais et en compilant les donnees requises. Contribuer a la documentation et a l'execution des essais sous la direction d'ingenieurs en essais. Documenter les resultats des essais. Communiquer avec les fournisseurs pour soutenir la programmation, la documentation et le suivi de la progression des essais.

Competences requises

Baccalaureat ou maitrise (ou en voie d'obtention) en genie ou dans un domaine connexe Plus d'un an d'experience pertinente en developpement de tests (ou combinaison equivalente d'etudes et d'experience de travail) Approche analytique et quantitative du travail et confiance necessaire pour influencer les gens a tous les niveaux. Excellentes aptitudes en matiere d'organisation, de communication et de collaboration. Solides competences en matiere de documentation.

Competences souhaitees

Connaissance technique des concepts relatifs aux essais d'equipements electromecaniques. Connaissance des processus de sterilisation et de resterilisation dans l'industrie des dispositifs medicaux. Connaissance des dispositifs a usage unique et de la conception et du developpement de cables medicaux. Experience dans le domaine de la conception de cables et de la selection de materiaux afin de trouver le juste equilibre entre les proprietes electriques, la rigidite dielectrique et la performance acoustique recherchees, sans compromettre la flexibilite et la facilite d'utilisation des cables. This job involves regular collaboration with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders across Canada, the U.S., and/or internationally, making proficiency in English essential for effective communication and alignment. As detailed in the job description, this job involves communicating, both verbally and in writing, with other Boston Scientific teams located across Canada, the United States and/or with our international clients and partners. International customers and partners represent an important part of our activities. Based on an evaluation, we have determined that the duties of Test Engineering Intern position require knowledge of English in addition to French (oral and written). We also determined that the English language skills already required of other employees do not permit the performance of English language skills tasks related to Test Engineering Intern position.



However, in Quebec, Boston Scientific limits as much as possible the number of positions for which it requires the knowledge of another language than French. Boston Scientific solely requires proficiency in English where it is necessary for the performance of an employee's duties.
