Territory Manager, Companion Animal,
to join our team
remotely
working 40 hours/week (Monday - Friday).
THE ROLE
The Territory Manager oversees sales and relationship management within a designated geographic area. This role is responsible for generating new business, building long-term customer relationships, maintaining existing accounts, and achieving sales targets through effective planning, client engagement, and strategic execution.
The objective of this role is to provide solutions that meet customer needs and for creating demand for the portfolio of products by changing prescribing and dispensing habits of veterinarians and generating demand from end users.
DAY-TO-DAY
Sales Planning & Execution
Develop and implement a comprehensive territory sales plan to meet or exceed targets.
Identify, qualify, and close new business opportunities within the assigned territory.
Execute sales strategies to improve product distribution, sales volume, brand awareness, and customer education.
Monitor and track performance against objectives; re-evaluate and adjust plans quarterly to enhance results and profitability.
Customer Relationship Management
Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships.
Serve as the primary point of contact for all customers in the territory.
Conduct regular customer visits to assess needs, promote products/services, and ensure satisfaction.
Address product/service issues, resolve disruptions, and manage customer complaints proactively.
Collaboration & Communication
Work closely with internal teams, including marketing, product, and customer support to ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
Communicate key insights from the fields such as competitor activity, customer behavior, and market trends--to the broader team.
Enhance the company's profile and value proposition within the veterinary channel and customer base.
Territory & Market Intelligence
Stay informed on industry trends, competitive landscape, and market conditions.
Understand the unique needs and challenges within the territory and anticipate customer issues based on market knowledge.
Identify and communicate differentiating factors that provide added value to customers.
Operational Excellence
Use best practices for route planning, call frequency, and territory coverage.
Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, decision-makers, and key contacts.
Submit timely weekly reports summarizing performance against objectives.
Maintain fiscal responsibility by managing trade spend per account and ensuring expenditures align with budget.
Technical Support & Representation
Provide product training and technical support to clients and partners.
Build and deliver compelling technical presentations to introduce product features and benefits.
Represent the company at customer meetings, trade shows, industry conferences, and association events.
Participate in internal, customer, and regulatory audits as needed.
Perform other duties as required.

IDEAL FIT
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree or college diploma. (Animal Health, Agronomy, Biology, Animal Science or Animal Health).
Minimum of 2 years in related direct sales and/or marketing experience with preference given to pharmaceutical or veterinary industries and products.
