Position Overview
The Terminal Operations Manager plays a key leadership role within the Eastern Ontario operations team. Reporting to the Eastern Ontario Operations Manager, this role is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the Johnstown plant, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-performing facility. The role also supports operations at other key terminals as directed.
This is an ideal position for an experienced operations professional looking to expand their leadership responsibilities and contribute to the growth and efficiency of multiple facilities.
Key Responsibilities
Operations & Product Management
Oversee activities directly related to product management and physical plant maintenance (yard, buildings, equipment, trucks, trailers, tanks).
Co-ordinate activities concerning product management and distribution of product and services, including inventory management and barge offload, loading tankers, blending finished product, etc.
Assist with Operations at any of our key terminals across Canada and the US - including marine vessel offloads, rail car offloads and various other duties as directed.
Health, Safety & Compliance
Monitor and maintain all Health and Safety related activities, including workplace PPE and safety talks.
Participate in terminal-related construction and improvement projects as directed.
Logistics & Vendor Relations
Maintain good relations with the Port of Johnstown Management
Assist with yard duties during busy season, including mixing products, loading and offloading trucks, yard maintenance, snow plowing
Communicate externally with Suppliers, Brokers, Contractors, Vendors, Customers
Administrative Support & Communication
Undertake office-related administrative duties to support operational efficiency
Communicate operational updates and coordinate activities with internal and external partners
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Degree or diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution, or equivalent combination of education and experience
At least three (3) years' previous experience in operations, and hands-on experience in shop and yard maintenance, process piping
Experience in liquid logistics, terminal operations, or supply chain is an asset
Knowledge of blending and loading systems, meters, pumps, plumbing, pipe fitting, and welding
Familiarity with MTO, MOE, and MNR regulations, plus WHMIS and Health & Safety practices
AZ/DZ driver's license required
Strong communication, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills
Safety-focused, proactive, and able to work independently or as part of a team
Basic maintenance skills (plumbing, electrical, small engines, pumps)
Extensive knowledge of liquid movement (pumps, plumbing, pipe fitting, welding) an asset.
