The major focus of this position will be the development of a cutting-edge, externally-funded, world-class research program. Other responsibilities will include teaching nanomedicine/drug delivery or chemical biology and other related topics to students in the BPSc, PharmD, and MSc/PhD programs, as well as new programs under development.The UBC Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences is undergoing major expansion and investment to meet our ambitious goal of being one of the leading academic centres internationally in the pharmaceutical sciences within the next decade. As part of this ongoing strategic development program, research activity in the Faculty is focusing on (Nanomedicine and Chemical Biology, Molecular and Systems Pharmacology, Health Outcomes, and Pharmacy Education Research & Leadership) that reflect areas of existing strength, opportunities for new partnerships, and the potential for delivering long-term impact, with an emphasis on the application of state-of-the-art concepts and methodologies to address clinically important issues in pharmacotherapy.The Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences is located in a quarter-million-square-foot, state-of-the-art learning and research facility in the heart of the UBCxe2x80x99s Vancouver campus. Functional, striking and always thrumming with activity, the building is home to cutting-edge equipment, laboratories and research spaces that we make available for use by the scientific public. The building also houses one of the Faculty's key partners, . The successful candidate will have ample opportunities for collaboration with basic and clinical researchers in the Faculty, other major basic science and health science faculties, clinical centres, core research facilities, and external partners (e.g., , St Paulxe2x80x99s Hospital, and BC Womenxe2x80x99s & Childrenxe2x80x99s Hospital). The expected salary range for this Assistant Professor position is $145,000 xe2x80x93 165,000 per annum, plus benefits.
