The Tenant Relations Coordinator supports positive and respectful relationships between tenants and the Housing Department at AVFN. THis role helps ensure that housing is safe, well-maintained, asd managed in a way that reflects community values, fairness, and mutual respect.
Working closely with the Housing and Infrastructure Director and other housing staff, the Tenant Relations Coordinator assists tenants with housing concerns, provides communication and support, and promotes housing stability and community well being.
Responsibilities
Serve as the primary point of contact for tenants regarding housing concerns, maintenance requests, and general inquiries.
Help tenants understand rental agreements, housing policies, and community expectations.
Conduct respectful home visits and inspections to support safety, maintenance, and compliance
Assist with move-ins, and move-outs, including documentation, inspections, and orientation.
Support the resolution on tenant concerns in a fair, compassionate, and solutions-focused manner
Work closely with housing staff to ensure timely responses and follow up on housing matters.
Participate in the on-call rotation between housing staff to respond to after-hours housing issues and emergencies.
Maintain accurate, confidential tenant file, reports, and communications.
Support community housing events, workshops, and tenant engagement activities.
Mediate Disputes and support conflict resolution using culturally appropriate practises.
Qualifications
Experience in housing services, community relations, or social services is an asset
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a respectful and compassionate approach.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, and other relevant software.
Strong organizational and documentation skills.
Knowledge of Indigenous community values, traditions, and approaches to housing and well-being.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
Ability to handle multiple priorities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
Committed to confidentiality, fairness, and building trust within the community.
Hours:
Monday to Thursday 8:30am - 4:00pm, with participation in an
on-call
rotation between housing staff.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $45,000.00 per year
