Jack Hulland Elementary is a Kindergarten to Grade 7 neighbourhood school aiming to foster a welcoming, safe, and inclusive educational environment; one where each student is supported to meet their full potential.
This position provides an opportunity to work as a Temporary 1.0 FTE Grade 2 Classroom Teacher at JHES from January 5, 2026 until April 17, 2026. JHES is a Ready to Learn School, using the Neurosequential Model in Education to drive our practice.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience:
Bachelor of Education
Teaching experience in a primary classroom;
Teaching experience in the use of current, research-based practices for literacy and numeracy learning;
Teaching experience using Assessment for Learning strategies;
Teaching experience with integration of social and emotional learning throughout classroom programming;
Knowledge, skills, and training related to the Neurosequential Model in Education (NME) informed practice is an asset.
DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:
Candidates should have and may be assessed on their:
Knowledge of & sensitivity to the culture & aspirations of the First Nations people of Yukon & a culturally diverse student population.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trusting relationships when working with students, families, staff members and administrators;
Effective and respectful classroom management based on a developmental understanding of children;
Strong planning and organizational skills;
A strong commitment to the practice of differentiated instruction and assessment within classroom programming designed to meet individual student needs;
Ability to adapt curriculum to meet a wide range of learning abilities and styles and to meet the needs of students with Individual Education Plans;
Ability to develop and implement Individual Educational Plan and Student Behavioural Plans in collaboration with school staff;
Willingness and ability to work as a member of a professional team and to promote, support and work collaboratively with all staff on school initiatives within the total school program;
Willingness to support the philosophy, values and beliefs of the school and to support the school growth plan;
