JOB DESCRIPTION
Star of the Sea Elementary
is seeking a friendly and organized temporary school secretary to join our front office team starting at the end of August. This position plays a key role in creating a welcoming and efficient school environment for students, staff, and families.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students, and parents
Answer phones, manage emails, and handle general office correspondence
Provide administrative support to staff and school leadership
Maintain student records and attendance
Assist with communications and scheduling
Use office software to manage documents, forms, and internal communications
Qualifications:
Friendly and professional demeanor
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Proficiency with computers and common office software (Word, Excel, email, etc.)
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy school environment
Willingness to learn new systems
Assets (Not Required):
Previous experience as a school secretary
Familiarity with MyEd BC
