The Rock Truck Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently operating articulated rock trucks at rural pit locations near Camrose. This role requires attention to detail, a strong focus on safety, and the ability to work collaboratively with other operators and site personnel.
This is a temporary role anticipated to run for approximately 8 weeks, with the potential for rehire in the 2026 construction season (May-November).
Job Overview and Responsibilities
Operate articulated rock trucks including staging, hauling, and dumping material Conduct thorough pre-trip and walk-around inspections to ensure safety and equipment readiness Report any maintenance or mechanical issues to the appropriate department Perform routine maintenance such as greasing and fueling Coordinate effectively with excavator operators and other truck drivers to maintain efficient pit operations Comply with Border Paving Ltd. safe working procedures and practices Follow all applicable safety regulations and operational guidelines Other duties as required
Qualifications
Valid driver's license (minimum Class 5) Current driver's abstract provided prior to hiring Previous experience operating a 30-ton articulated rock truck is an asset Strong focus on safety and operational efficiency
