Reporting to the Manager, Clinical Neurosciences, the Quality Specialist will advise, coordinate, document, and optimize neurology, specifically stroke quality and process improvement projects. The incumbent will work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to lead and manage small to large scale projects simultaneously while maintaining flexibility to respond to appropriate urgent and ad hoc requests. The incumbent will combine their understanding of stroke best practices, TPA administration, Endovascular Thrombectomy, Accreditation Canada requirements for Stroke Distinction and business intelligence with lean project management skills to optimize, evaluate and sustain improved system coordination within the neurology environment. The incumbent will also develop and maintain processes for data collection and produce reports required by the Clinical Neurosciences program for performance measurement and quality improvement. The incumbent will work collaboratively with leadership and staff to implement quality improvement processes, which are aligned with Accreditation Canada's stroke best practices to improve care and service to patients, staff and other clients.

Rate of Pay: $46.79 per hour - $58.48 per hour
Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

Qualifications

Successful completion of an undergraduate degree in a health-related field required, Master?s degree preferred
Member in good standing of respective professional organization required
Minimum three (3) years recent, related job experience in Quality Management or Stroke Care Delivery
Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt ? preferred
Certification in Quality Management by and accredited institution preferred
Advanced knowledge of current regulatory and accreditation requirements
Advanced knowledge of project management, quality assurance and information systems design
Advanced knowledge and experience with data collection and analysis
Consensus building, conflict resolution, consultation and coaching/mentoring style of leadership
Computer literacy including Microsoft Office Suite and corporate productivity tools
Proficient facilitation and presentation skills
Demonstrated practice and commitment to the principles of patient and family centered care
Demonstrated practice and commitment to patient and staff safety at LHSC
Demonstrated practice and commitment to LHSC?s Vision, Purpose, and Values
Demonstrated ability to attend work on a regular basis
