Responsibilities
include assisting with prescription preparation, performing data entry, managing inventory and expiry checks, operating cash register, refilling medications, and preparing blister packs or packaging orders. Prior experience in a community or hospital pharmacy setting is mandatory. Duties
Assist pharmacists with dispensing medications accurately and efficiently.
Processing new prescriptions and refills accurately and promptly.
Prepare prescription labels and package medications for patient pickup or delivery.
Maintain organized inventory of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
Friendly demeanor and answering phone calls.
Provide excellent patient care by communicating effectively and confidently.
Problem-solving skills and familiarity with current pharmacy regulations and scope of practice.
Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and regulatory standards.
Manage documentation related to medication administration and patient records
Support in processing insurance claims and billing as needed
Uphold confidentiality and privacy standards in accordance with healthcare regulations
Requirements
Current and prior Canadian pharmacy experience in a hospital or community setting is mandatory.
Knowledge of pharmacy assistant procedures/tasks and medical terminology is highly desirable.
Strong commitment to patient care and service excellence.
Ability to handle medication administration processes accurately.
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
Effective communication skills for interacting with patients, staff, and healthcare providers. Professionalism and friendly demeanor.
Certification or training as a pharmacy assistant is a plus.
Must be able to pass background checks and adhere to all safety protocols.
