As a member of our Borderline Personality Self Regulation Clinic, you will be involved in all aspects of an adherent Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT) outpatient program. You will provide clinical assessment and treatment, consultative and educational services to clients, families, community providers and referral sources.
You will have demonstrated initiative and creative approaches to challenging situations and will be willing to work collaboratively as the program continues to work towards specialized evidence-based services in a learning environment. You will have formal training and experience in DBT service delivery working with individuals in group and 1:1 who have Borderline Personality Disorder. You will work actively with our referral sources and community partners and will provide individual and group counseling, liaison with the community, consultation and education services.
Requirements:
Bachelor of Nursing
Registered with the College of Nurses in good standing
Demonstrates knowledge of regulatory standards
Certification and practice in DBT (preferred)
Knowledge and experience working with clients with a Borderline Personality Disorder in an outpatient population
3-5 years of recent psychiatric experience in a mental health facility or service is desired
Community mental health service provision experience
Training and/or experience in facilitating psychoeducational groups
Understanding of relevant legislation, such as the Mental Health Act and PHIPA is required
The successful candidate will have the ability to work effectively as part of an interdisciplinary team and demonstrated competence in performance, clinical assessment, intervention and documentation
The candidate will have demonstrated excellent interpersonal and effective oral/written communication skills
Current CPR-HCP is required
The ability to work with clients of diverse ethno-racial and cultural backgrounds. Proficiency in a second language is considered an asset
Must have the ability to perform the physical demands of the position
