The Role
The Facilities, Maintenance and Operations (FMO) Department requires two Seasonal Maintenance Workers. These roles are important members of the FMO Team. Under the direction of the Facilities Manager, they perform a wide variety of tasks including, but not limited to:
Exterior demand and preventative maintenance:
+ repairs and maintenance of entrances, walkways and roadways using manual labor and equipment.
+ sweep, wash and paint entrances, walkways and roadways.
+ lawn maintenance including mowing, trimming, edging, and herbicide spraying.
+ garbage and debris collection.
+ operate vehicles and small equipment
+ assist in minor fleet vehicle maintenance; i.e., car washes Interior demand and preventative duties:
+ assembly and moving of furniture and equipment.
+ setting up for events.
+ assisting maintenance service workers with minor repairs and projects as required. Other tasks as requested by the Manager, Facilities, or their designated team member from the Facilities department.
Typical work hours are Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:00 pm (35-hour work week), however there may be occasions when the work schedule may shift and some weekend work, early morning work or evening work may be required.
The hourly wage is $20.34

Job Requirements
Necessary skills and attributes to be successful in this role include:
Must have a valid Class 5 drivers license.
Able to lift 25 kg.
A strong work ethic, adaptable and able to learn new tasks.
Requires good manual dexterity and is expected to be able to operate/learn to operate various hand power tools.
Anticipate and remedy any potentially hazardous conditions.
Operate equipment in a safe and courteous manner at all times.
Communicate courteously with stakeholders, and be a helpful team player.
Experience with Lawn Care Equipment. Familiarity with commercial mowers and other lawn care tools will be an asset.
