to join our Public Works Department. In this position, you'll play a crucial role in keeping our city running smoothly, from road repairs to snow removal and everything in between. You'll be part of a dynamic team that works together to provide essential services to the public.
Key Responsibilities
Perform essential labour duties
including flagging traffic, water and sewer repairs, manual snow removal, sanding, and assisting with road maintenance (asphalt, sodding, curb stop repairs, and concrete repairs).
Operate various tools and equipment
for general municipal maintenance, such as compressors, jackhammers, vibratory rollers, pumps, tar kettles, chainsaws, and plow attachments.
Report any issues
encountered while completing job assignments and ensure all equipment and tools are well-maintained and in working condition.
Follow safety protocols
in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act, City Health and Safety policies, and industry best practices.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Valid Class "DZ" Ontario Driver's License
Strong ability to follow instructions and complete tasks independently or as part of a team
Proven record of excellent work performance and reliability
Ability to safely operate tools and equipment used in municipal maintenance
