Job purpose
As a key member of the production team the General Plant Relief is responsible for the following but not limited to; relieving employees in all areas of production. Additionally, they will warrant safe plant operations and a safe working environment for all employees.

Duties and responsibilities

• Relieve employees and perform all tasks for the position.
• Cover position for employees either on vacation and/or leave of absence.
• Troubleshoot and make minor adjustments to equipment.
• Supplying all pertinent documents and reports, as may be required by management or the government, in an accurate and legible format.
• Report to Manager/Supervisor immediately of any food safety and/or quality issues (ie foreign materials, sanitation issues, health & safety issues, etc).
• Ensure compliance with GMP, Food Safety, Quality Regulations, SOPs and other pertinent policies, procedures and legislation.
• Maintain a safe work area and support health & safety programs.
• Maintains good housekeeping and clean work areas.
• Take on additional duties as required.

Qualifications

• Good reading, communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills.
• Good mathematical, mechanical aptitude, analytical, and problem solving skills.
• Ability to identify, problem solve and research alternatives within the scope of the job.
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team based environment.
• Additional experience, training or education asset.

The nature of our business is such that the successful candidate may be requested to work overtime, weekends, and shift work.

Job Type: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 12 months

Pay: From $28.72 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
