Qualifications and General Duties:

A valid Alberta Teaching Certificate Demonstrates a student-centred philosophy committed to maximizing learning in a safe and caring environment Proficiency with Google Suite and educational tools for communication and planning Experience and/or training in Assessment for Learning, including formative and summative assessment strategies Ability to build positive relationships with students and foster a sense of belonging Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues Commitment to ongoing professional growth and reflective practice aligned with the Alberta Teaching Quality Standard A willingness to contribute to the school's extracurricular programs is considered an asset

(KES) has a staff of 15 Teachers and 10 Support Staff, offering instruction to approximately 250 students in Grade 1 to 6. KES also houses a private, accredited Kindergarten (ECS) program. KES offers many extra-curricular programs, such as drama, cooking club, running club, volleyball, and basketball. Students enrolled in KES come from the community of Kitscoty, from the surrounding agricultural area, and from numerous acreages in the vicinity.


Kitscoty Elementary School is located in the small, caring community of Kitscoty, located only 15 minutes west of Lloydminster. A large number of parents work in the city of Lloydminster and in the neighbouring oil producing area. Its close proximity to Lloydminster makes it an attractive location for families that want to raise their families in a small town but within a short distance of city amenities. The population of Kitscoty is approximately 1000 and continues to grow as the village and the community of Blackfoot open new residential areas.
