Job Description
Job Purpose: Under the direction of the school administrator for all day-to-day operations and the Caretaking Manager for all technical components, the caretaker is responsible for providing a safe, clean and healthy environment for students, staff and the public and overseeing day to day building operations, working as part of both the school-specific and Division-wide Facilities teams.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge and ability to safely monitor and reset a boiler and associated+ HVAC system.
- Ability to safely operate floor cleaning, stripping and waxing equipment and outdoor equipment such as snow blowers and lawnmowers.
- Ability to perform basic building maintenance and repair functions.
- Ability to manage confidential material and maintain staff and student privacy.
- Grade 12 diploma or equivalent.
- WHMIS training is an asset.
- Fireman\xe2\x80\x99s Certificate is an asset.
- Minimum 3 years caretaking experience.
- As per CUPE Agreement
- Monday to Friday, 8 hours per day; exact schedule to be determined
- Commencing as soon as possible and ending December 31, 2023 or upon return of incumbent, whichever is earlier. There is a possibility for an extension.
- Salary Range: $20.96 - $24.51 per hour
- Ability to perform physical labour, including lifting heavy objects, moving furniture
