Overview:
High Tide requires a TFW Coordinator who will be responsible for managing all aspects of the Temporary Foreign Worker Program (TFWP) and related compliance requirements. Reporting to the Retail Recruitment Leader, the incumbent ensures adherence to federal and provincial regulations, supports recruitment and onboarding of foreign workers, and maintains accurate documentation for audits and inspections. The TFW Coordinator will work closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to ensure smooth program administration and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Manage end-to-end TFW Program processes, including LMIA applications, work permit tracking, and renewals.
Ensure compliance with Employment and Social Development Canada (ESDC) and Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) requirements.
Maintain accurate records of employment contracts, wages, and working conditions for audit readiness.
Coordinate onboarding for foreign workers, including orientation, housing arrangements, and community integration support.
Act as primary liaison with government agencies, legal counsel, and recruitment partners for TFW-related matters.
Monitor expiry dates for work permits and initiate renewal processes in advance.
Prepare and submit required reports and documentation for inspections and audits.
Support workforce planning by providing updates on TFW availability and timelines to hiring managers.
Educate managers on compliance obligations under the TFW Program and provincial employment standards.
Track and report on program metrics, including LMIA status, permit renewals, and compliance checks.
Assist with resolving issues related to TFW employment, housing, and workplace integration.
Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with privacy legislation.
Take initiative in process improvements and recommend best practices for program efficiency.
Qualifications:
2-3 years of experience in HR or recruitment with exposure to immigration or TFW programs.
Strong knowledge of ESDC and IRCC regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience managing LMIA applications and work permit processes.
Diploma or certificate in Human Resources, Immigration Consulting, or related field is an asset.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet strict deadlines.
Effective communication skills with internal teams and external agencies.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; knowledge of Smartsheet is an asset.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
RPR designation or Immigration Consultant certification is an asset.
