Purpose of Position:



Reporting to the Corporate Leader - Operations/Municipal Engineer, the Temporary Operations Program Coordinator (CHIF) will support the Municipality of Lakeshore's Critical Housing and Infrastructure Fund (CHIF) Program Charter which will include coordination of Operations initiatives, conducting targeted Operations research, and assisting with scheduling and attending engagement meetings with political stakeholders to provide administrative support for funding opportunities specific to Water and Wastewater based projects and Program Charter objectives.

This role plays a pivotal part in coordinating and supporting activities related to grant applications for Operations based projects and coordinating effective communications and follow-up with political and administrative leads on opportunities for Operations based projects with various levels of government by preparing notes and other communications.



Qualifications and Experience:



A 4-year University degree in Political Science or other social science disciplines from related field from a recognized accredited institution in Canada. Up to 2 years of experience in public affairs, policy advocacy, grant coordination, or a similar role. Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work independently or as part of a team Satisfactory police clearance

Knowledge and Skills:



Demonstrated understanding of government processes, funding programs, and political systems. Excellent writing, research, and analytical skills. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including comfort engaging with political stakeholders. Ability to work on several projects or issues simultaneously Ability to work independently or in a team environment as needed Excellent organizational skills to prioritize and complete work with minimal supervision within appropriate timeframes. Experience in a computerized environment and a working knowledge of office software such as Microsoft Office Suite programs including but not limited to Word and Excel.

Major Responsibilities:



Research and Policy Analysis specific to the Water and Wastewater Master Plan Program Charter: Conduct policy and legislative research to identify opportunities aligned with Water and Wastewater based infrastructure program priorities in line with Lakeshore's Program Charter. Analyze government funding trends, legislative changes, and public policy developments related to infrastructure projects. Prepare briefing notes, policy memos, and background materials to support advocacy efforts. Coordinate Communications and Engagement: Collaborate with Communications and Engagement to coordinate communications with representatives of the offices of various levels of government with respect to coordinating meetings. Assist in building and maintaining relationships with representatives from the offices of local, regional, and national government stakeholders with the Operations Program Lead and other key staff. Grant Funding Support: Working with Financial Planning and Analysis to coordinate the preparation of grant proposals, including gathering supporting data, drafting information, and compiling documentation. Support post-submission follow-up and reporting requirements in collaboration with internal teams. Program Coordination and Reporting: Maintain a centralized calendar and database of engagements, contacts, and deadlines specific to the CHIF Program Charter and Operations. Track action items, commitments, and correspondence from Operations based and CHIF meetings and funding inquiries. Prepare regular progress reports for internal leadership. Provide administrative support to the Corporate Leader - Operations/Municipal Engineer. Observe all Municipal policies, procedures, occupational health and safety practices, legislation and regulations, and Municipal by-laws. Other duties as assigned

Work is performed under the direction of the Corporate Leader - Operations/Municipal Engineer. Works within established guidelines, policies, procedures, directives, bylaws and legislation. Working more independently and only raising problems to Leaders.

Control over Work Schedule

Typically work Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (35 hours per week). Occasionally may be requested to work beyond normal office hours subject to the employee's consent in order to meet deadlines and the respective collective agreement. Overtime as specified in the Collective Agreement with CUPE Local 702.4
