Overview:

Innexus Technical Services is looking for Telecommunications Technicians in the Edmonton area. Some travel may be required outside of Edmonton. Successful candidates must be able to work in various environments including commercial, offices, retail, residential as well as indoors and outdoors. Previous experience installing cabling in these settings is an asset.

Job Responsibilities:

Installation of Raceway and Conduit pathways to support the installation of fiber cabling in buildings.

Installation of Fiber Optic cabling within buildings.

Assist with installation of cabling into building.

Installation of related Fiber Optic Hardware.

Mechanical termination of Fiber cabling, fusion splicing experience an asset.

Testing and troubleshoot cabling with Fluke and Exfo equipment.

Label cabling and enclosures as per site drawings.

Install fire stopping in conduits and/or wall, floor, ceiling penetrations.

Work to ensure company policies and procedures are being followed.

Assist other members of team with site cleanup.

Other duties as required.

Job Qualifications:

1+ years of experience in Structured Cabling, Telecommunications and/or IT experience.

Previous experience with telecommunications (Telus and Shaw) installation methods an asset.

Ability to understand construction drawings.

Current CSTS, Fall Protection, EWP, First Aid an asset.

Familiar with various hand and power tools.

Own basic hand tools and PPE.

Must be flexible in working various shifts.

Knowledge of health, safety, environmental practices related to the construction industry.

Able to manage a physically requirements of the job and comfortable working outdoors in varying conditions.

Comfortable working at heights (on a ladder or lift).

Good work ethic with exceptional attention to detail.

Mechanically and mathematically inclined.

Ability to problem solve issues in the field that may arise.

Highly motivated and able to complete assignments with minimal supervision.

Strong organizational and time management skills.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Must have/maintain a class 5 license and reliable transportation.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$28.00 per hour
