We are seeking a skilled and motivated Telecommunications Engineer to support the design, deployment, and maintenance of wireless and microwave communication systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning and implementing telecom infrastructure, including base transceiver stations (BTS), microwave links, and related network components. This role involves conducting site surveys, ensuring line-of-sight compliance, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and maintaining adherence to safety and quality standards. The ideal candidate has strong technical expertise, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities
Design, plan, and implement telecommunications systems including BTS, microwave, and wireless networks
Conduct site surveys, line-of-sight (LOS) analysis, and technical assessments for new and existing sites
Install, configure, test, and commission telecom equipment in compliance with engineering standards
Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely project execution
Monitor network performance and troubleshoot faults to maintain service reliability
Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, and reports
Ensure compliance with Canadian safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards
Support project planning, scheduling, cost control, and quality assurance activities
Perform site inspections and verify work completion against approved designs
Provide technical support during upgrades, maintenance, and network expansion projects
Requirements & Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field
Minimum
3-5 years
of experience in telecommunications engineering or related roles
Experience with BTS deployment, microwave link design, or wireless network implementation
Strong understanding of RF principles, LOS analysis, and network optimization
Familiarity with telecom tools, design software, and Microsoft Office applications
Knowledge of Canadian safety standards and construction practices (an asset)
Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently or as part of a team
Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
Willingness to travel to project sites within Manitoba as required
Eligible to work in Canada (required)

Pay: $25.00-$40.00 per hour
