The primary goal of a Technology and Data Auditor is to carry out activities that aid the department in fulfilling its mission to provide independent, objective assurance and consulting services designed to add value and improve the Credit Union's operations. This will ensure that effective and efficient technology controls and procedures are in place to identify, document, and report on significant risks for the organization.
What you'll be doing:
Conduct compliance and operational audits of technology functions and corresponding risk areas such as information technology, cybersecurity, and data governance in accordance with the audit plan and the department's standards. This includes walkthroughs, risk and control identification, finding socialization, and report writing.
Provide cross-functional support to the internal audit function in the automation of audit processes and data analytics support, including the development and execution of data queries to fulfill audit-related data requests.
Reviewing IS project plans, solution design documents, and testing scenarios to assess their completeness and adequacy and to ensure controls are present to mitigate risk.
What you bring:
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years related IT audit experience in large system computing environment, including extensive supervisory or project management experience.
Experience applying the Control Objectives for Information and Related Technology (COBIT) framework would be an asset.
Experience in designing and executing complex SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data from relational databases.
Experience implementing data analytics to support continuous auditing would be an asset.
Proficiency in applying internal auditing standards, procedures and techniques, risk management practices, procedures and protocols, and industry best practices.
Strong understanding of risk and controls
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Highly effective communication skills to build strong relationships with staff at all levels.
Education:
Undergraduate degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent experience will be considered in place of a degree.
Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) designation or a Security Management designation (CISM or CISSP).
One or more of the following designations: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Chartered Accountant (CA), Master of Business Administration (MBA), or Certified Management Accountant (CMA)
