Major Activities of the Job:

Detoxification and Purification of Diphtheria Toxin/Toxoid:

Primary operator for the validated cleaning, rinsing of process related equipment.

Primary operator for the preparation, inspection and release of purification equipment for toxin I toxoid processing.

Primary operator for the recovery of ammonium-sulphate precipitated toxin using crude filtration with a secondary operator.

Primary operator for the dialysis of toxin using membrane dialysis for ammonium sulphate removal in cold room.

Primary operator for the detoxification of the toxin with a secondary operator.

Set-up, operate and monitor the complex ultra-filtration unit with a secondary operator.

Purification of Tetanus Toxoid:

Primary operator for the validated cleaning, rinsing of process related equipment.

Primary operator for the preparation, inspection and release of purification equipment for toxin I toxoid processing.

Primary operator for the recovery of ammonium-sulphate precipitated toxin using crude filtration with a secondary operator

Primary loading, balancing and operation of centrifuges.

Set-up, operate and monitor the complex ultra-filtration unit with a secondary operator.

Set-up clean room and perform critical sterile filtration of toxoid with a secondary operator.

Preparation of stock and bulk Tuberculin PPD:

Primary operator for the inspection and release of purification equipment for toxin I toxoid processing.

Primary preparation of hazardous diluents, critical final filters and process related equipment for PPD production.

Primary inspector for the process related equipment prior to use.

Formulation and sampling of non-replaceable (dry powder can not be replaced) stock solution and final bulk in clean room with a secondary technologist.

Complete, monitor and review TR results and BPRs.

Facility monitoring and testing:

Primary preparation of QO approved disinfectants for cleaning applications.

Primary preparation of rooms (including clean rooms) for sampling and environmental monitoring.

Prepare and sample EM as outlined by SOP. Monitor and perform EM as required per product, per week, per bi-week, per month.

Entry of EM in Master.

Recovery of the completed EM documents.

Primary verification to routine facility EM schedules independent to the production requirements.

Documentation of activities and SPC Data entry:

Concurrent BPR entry and checking of calculations.

Data entry into SPC database for SPC trending.

Organization of batch records.

Monitoring of cleanroom, incubator and refrigerator logs.

Information retrieval for inspection, validation etc..

Review SOPs every three years and update. Create new SOP if needed.

Documentation and tracking of reference samples.

SAP and EM Data entry:

Data entry for SAP manufacturing processes and maintenance orders.

Issuance and creation of process orders.

Maintenance of material adjustment forms.

Maintenance of inventory.

re-order of non-MRP items required for production activities.

use of e-Shopping, NON conformance creation and addressing, FM work requests.

EM data entry for MASTER EM system.

Minimum Qualifications:

Minimum three (3) years College Diploma (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Laboratory related courses), plus a minimum of eighteen (18) months of previous relevant work experience or three (3) years University Degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Laboratory related courses), plus a minimum of one (1) year of previous relevant work experience.

Preferred four (4) years Bachelor Degree (Microbiology, Bio-chemistry) plus a minimum of one (1) year of previous relevant experience.

Aseptic and Clean room Techniques.

Quality Operations.

Mechanical & processing techniques.

Chemistry / Microbiology.

Mathematics, Statistical, Analytical/Deductive reasoning.

Computers.

Coordinating and Organization.

Verbal and Written communication.
