Under the direction of the Manager, Operations Systems, this position focuses on automation solutions for operations in Purolator Hubs and Terminals.
Responsibilities
--------------------
Duties involved to achieve these goals include but are not limited to:
Adheres to safety standards
Ensures the availability of the high-level control system and SCADA
Supports operations and provides recommendations for improving the overall performance
Performs day-to-day on-site IT/Network maintenance activities
Deploys new updates for various systems and rollback in case needed
Monitors the hosts, VMs, NMS, and NAS performance and reports any abnormalities
Troubleshoots communication issues from end to end
Recommends any additional network security measures
Changes plans in the backup & restore software
Upgrades the firmware for the controllers, label printers, and handheld scanners whenever required
Raises service requests to the vendors when needed
Controls software and hardware versions
Completes the PM plan for the vision and weight tunnels, label printers, and handheld scanners on schedule
Performs corrective maintenance actions to reduce the downtime
Creates root cause analysis reports for the issues found on site
Studies sort plans and reports issues/modifications/enhancements required
Creates and executes comprehensive test plans, reports, and tracks issues through to resolution
Manages the spare parts inventory
Working in rotational shifts
Qualifications
------------------
Successful candidates will have the following experience:
Post-secondary education. University or college degree in computer science/electronics engineering
At least 2 years experience working in a related field
Certification in Comptia Network+/CCNA is considered an asset
Familiarity with the following technologies would be an asset:

+ HPE Server Hardware
+ Microsoft Server Operating System
+ Hyper-V Architectures
+ Ethernet/Wireless Networks
+ Optical Character Recognition System
+ Oracle Database (19c)
+ Oracle WebLogic Administration
+ Veeam Backup and Restore
+ Power BI
+ Label Printers
+ Handheld Scanners
+ UPS Experience in instrumentation, automation, and process control networks
Experience within the courier/transportation industry is considered an asset
Experience with leading/managing projects
Excellent time management and communication skills
Excellent negotiation skills, analytical problem solving, and root cause analysis skills
