Position Description

The Vanderlaan Laboratory within the Labatt Family Heart Centre and Sickkids Research Institute (Developmental and Stem Cell Biology Division) is looking for a Research Technologist I. The Research Technologist I will work closely with the PI and other personnel within the lab. They will be responsible for applying scientific and technical knowledge and skills to perform laboratory research techniques related to general molecular and cellular biology. In addition, they will work with primary cell cultures and transgenic mouse models related to endothelial biology and cardiorespiratory physiology.

Here's What You'll Get To Do



Work independently and/or help other team members (graduate students) with laboratory experiments Conduct and/or help with experiments related to standard molecular and biochemical techniques Conduct and /or help with experiments using primary cell culture (endothelial biology) Maintenance of mouse breeding in the animal facility and conduct experiments utilizing animal models Conduct data analysis on results of research experiments Order supplies and general lab organization

Here's What You'll Need



Bachelor's degree in a scientific field (Eg. Biology, Life Sciences, Health Science, etc.) Two years of relevant experience (graduate school or work experience) Demonstrated competency in written and verbal communications Ability to work independently with a laboratory environment considered an asset A commitment to understanding and aiding in the pursuit of equity, diversity & inclusion
