We are looking for a Technician who will be responsible for the meticulous installation and continuous maintenance of critical coffee and cafe equipment for Pilot Coffee Roasters retail and wholesale clientele. The ideal candidate will be passionate about elevating quality standards and possess a strong interest in all things coffee, eager to grow alongside other enthusiasts. You must excel in a customer service-oriented environment, working efficiently with a diverse, friendly, and professional team.
Technical ServicesDevelop, implement, schedule, and formally calendarize a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for customer equipment.
Provide expert technical services, including the thorough investigation and resolution of any technical concerns reported by wholesale partners or Pilot Coffee Roasters retail locations. This encompasses, but is not limited to, the maintenance and repair of espresso machines, grinders, brewers, and all ancillary cafe-related equipment.
Execute independent troubleshooting and resolution of technical malfunctions, utilizing authorized equipment supplier technical support channels and consulting with Pilot's Head Technician as required.
Provide comprehensive support to the Technical Service Manager, including the timely provision of status updates on all work in progress and completion of administrative duties.
Perform professional installations of new cafe equipment, including but not limited to espresso machines, brewers, grinders, and associated accessories such as drip trays, rinsers, ice machines, and water filtration systems.
Provide assistance to PCR satellite operations with miscellaneous repair needs and, when necessary, coordinate the services of external trades professionals or contractors.
Maintain a state of readiness for all Pilot Coffee Roasters tools and ensure the spare parts inventory is adequately stocked to complete all required technical services promptly.
Generate accurate quotes and formal invoices for services rendered.
Qualifications and ExperienceDemonstrated mechanical aptitude and proficiency in logical and reasoned problem-solving.
Possession of a valid G-class driver's license with an impeccable driving record.
Desirable AttributesPrior professional experience in customer support is preferred.
Completion of an Engineering certificate and/or post-secondary education is preferred.
Possession of a valid Trades Certificate in Plumbing or Electrical is preferred.
Experience as a Barista or direct professional experience working on espresso machines is preferred.
Working ConditionsRotational schedule with frequent evenings and weekends required based on business needs
The ability to frequently lift and maneuver heavy packages (up to 50lbs) is required.
Daily operation of a company van is required, necessitating adherence to all safe driving conditions and compliance with all provincial highway, roadway, municipal parking, and traffic bylaws.
Regular daily travel to customer locations within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is mandatory, with periodic extended travel to customer locations across Canada.
