Job Description

As a Technician I - Security with Paladin Technologies, you will assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of security systems. You'll work with experienced technicians to gain hands-on experience with low voltage access control systems, CCTV setups, and prewiring projects.



This role requires the ability and knowhow to properly complete the installation, understand and follow the BOM, and be capable of making adjustments or finding alternative solutions as needed to complete installations to client satisfaction.

GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Assist in installing and servicing electronic security systems, including access control, CCTV and intrusion alarms. Pre-wiring, installing, programming, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance. Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cables, connectors, and related components. Assist in system design and layout. Provide customer with training for proper system usage, and respond to technical inquiries. Relationship building with clients and prospects for future opportunities. Administrative duties including project updates to Project Managers, completing and filing all project documentation. You may be required to work "night shifts" when needed based on project/service requirements. Perform other tasks as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1-3 years of experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry. Proficiency in cable pulling, installation, and basic troubleshooting. Experience with security systems, CCTV, and alarms. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with customers and team members. Valid Driver's License with a clean abstract. Able to work independently. Required night shift work and flexibility to work a day shift throughout the week

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Prior experience in a technical role within the integrated security industry. Post secondary training in electronics or equivalent is considered an asset. Basic knowledge of low voltage systems, CCTV, and prewiring is desirable but not required.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, climb, walk, sit, push, pull, squat, crawl, and stoop. The employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, feel objects, and type on keyboard; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The use of power tools will be required to effectively perform this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and may be required to work at heights over 1.8m (6 feet).

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be exposed to outdoor weather conditions, work on job sites, may be required to travel to and from job site locations, may work in a typical office environment, and is occasionally exposed to construction equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Confined space entry may be required. High work may be required.
