Job Description


How will you CONTRIBUTE and GROW?The main object and purpose of this position consist in installing and ensuring service of cryogenic vessels and gaseous high pressure installations in order to satisfy customer expectations, all while promoting ALCs quality and safety objectives.Extensive training will be provided.1. Ensures maintenance and service functions:

  • Completes preventative maintenance on cryogenic vessels and other ALC equipment
  • Completes job reports using company provided tablet
  • Replaces components such as solenoids, relays or fuses in motors or electrical circuits.
  • Reads schematic drawings and tests circuits with instruments.
2. Installs or repairs equipment:
  • Performs brazing on pressure piping to make connections and repair leaks.
  • Fabricates platforms, frames and various types of pipe brackets.
3. Ensures an emergency service:
  • Responds to emergencies after hours and on weekends or when problems arise at customer sites.
  • Is available 24/7 in order to answer emergency calls
4. Quality / Safety:
  • Actively promotes ALCs safety and quality objectives.
  • Maintains a clean work area as well as any other area, which may be assigned.
  • Maintains an accurate and organized inventory of parts in the shop and sevice car.
  • Respects & follows all procedures as indicated in the ALC Quality Manual.
  • Ensures the appropriate corrective and preventive measures are in place in order to answer customer complaints.
5. Process improvement:
  • Works toward continuously improving the work process.
  • Examines and searches for causes of failure or improper operations of parts and equipment. Plans and determines the best methods and materials required to perform proper and economical repair to restore equipment operation.
Are you a MATCH?
  • Diploma: Technical College Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning Systems Mechanical Certificate of Qualification 313A, Gas Technician License, or Certification (College Diploma) related to the job
  • Training: Cryogenics, brazing certificate (training will be provided by Air Liquide)
  • Knowledge: Oral and written communication skills, brazing and welding experience would be an asset, and fluid mechanics
  • This role requires frequent travel within Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and PEI, company car will be provided.
  • Strong Interpersonal, planning, problem-solving skills required.
  • 80% of the technician's time will be spent outdoors at customer sites. The technician will be exposed to all elements of the weather and climate.
  • Physical capabilities: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and work with various power tools such as; grinder, drill, saws, concrete drill, pipe cutters, in addition to various mechanical tools such as; hammer, wrench, screw drivers, cutters, etc.
  • A Valid Driver's License and Driver's Abstract must be provided
  • Successful applicants will undergo Criminal, Medical and Employment checks.
