Job Description

Our client is a company specializing in the design and manufacture of building materials. They are looking for a new Technical Writer Draft instructions and procedures as part of Engineering Change projects. The role includes translating, formatting, publishing, and distributing technical documents.
Your role :
Technical Focus

• Write, analyze, and validate technical documentation in collaboration with engineering, scientific, and cross-functional teams.
• Produce and maintain structured documentation: technical data sheets, installation guides, user guides, maintenance guides, cybersecurity white papers, etc.
• Ensure quality, consistency, and compliance with internal standards and quality systems.
• Manage the publication, layout, and distribution of technical documentation.
• Coordinate the translation of documents produced.
• Resolve issues related to technical writing, desktop publishing, and distribution.
• Work in the PLM system to create/modify documentation.
• Use structured XML creation tools (asset) and Creo Illustrate (advantage).

Project Focus

• Understand complex technical concepts in order to adapt documentation to different audiences (technicians, scientists, users).
• Work independently on routine assignments, with supervision for special projects.
• Participate in planning and updating documentation when technical changes occur.

Job conditions :
Working hours: Monday to Friday
Job location: On site, Quebec city (occasional work in remote)
Salary: Starting at 75k (depending on experience) + 5% annual bonus
Position type: Executive - permanent contract
Skills and qualifications :

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in technical writing.
• Degree in engineering OR technical writing OR mechanical engineering OR related field (certificate accepted).
