Technical Writer

Mississauga, ON, CA, Canada

Job Description

Amico is a leading, Canadian-owned and operated construction company specializing in large-scale infrastructure projects. With a strong track record in general contracting, civil engineering and road building, we deliver complex infrastructure solutions that shape the communities of Ontario. Our expertise spans major infrastructure projects, including highways, bridges, and critical public works that require meticulous planning, innovative engineering, and precise execution.

At Amico, we believe in fostering collaboration and empowering our team to tackle ambitious challenges head-on. By leveraging cutting-edge technology and proven project management practices, we consistently deliver high-quality infrastructure projects, regardless of their scale or complexity.

If you're ready to be part of a team that plays a pivotal role in Ontario's most impactful infrastructure developments, while gaining hands-on experience with industry-leading projects, we invite you to join us.

Position Overview:

We are seeking a Technical Writer to join our proposals team. This is not a traditional proposal writer position. Instead, we are looking for a candidate with construction project experience who can transform technical project knowledge into clear, compelling, and project-specific narratives. The successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting the development of our proposal submissions by articulating our unique construction methodologies, project approaches, schedules, risks, and opportunities in a persuasive and client-focused way.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate with project managers, estimators, schedulers, and subject matter experts to gather technical project insights. Write and edit tailored narratives that demonstrate our project-specific construction approach, execution strategy, schedule methodology, risk mitigation, and value-creation opportunities. Ensure consistency, clarity, and accuracy across all written proposal content. Translate technical construction information into accessible, compelling, and client-focused content. Support the proposal team in developing high-quality responses that align with client requirements and company brand standards. Maintain a library of technical narratives and project details for future use and adaptation.

Qualifications:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the construction industry, preferably in project management, coordination, or a related technical role. Exceptional writing and editing skills with a proven ability to craft clear, concise, and persuasive narratives. Strong understanding of construction processes, schedules, risk management, and project delivery methodologies. Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment. A natural curiosity and enthusiasm for learning about projects and translating technical detail into compelling stories. Experience with proposals, marketing, or technical documentation is an asset, but not required.
If you have a passion for writing, an eye for detail, and a strong foundation in construction project delivery, we would love to hear from you.
