RESPONSABILITIES & DUTIES

The technical support specialist identifies, implements or monitors engineering projects or improvement opportunities that have an impact on blister and bottle packaging processes.

  • Provide efficient technical support to the quality and production units on process, equipment, and workflow in packaging rooms.
  • Identify opportunities, develop, and implement solutions / systems / tools to support packaging activities aiming at improving product quality or productivity. (Change Control, execution delays, costs, SSE)
  • Resolve operational issues relate to equipment, packaging components, processes, and product quality.
  • New product development: Select packaging components and equipment, develop packaging tools and process parameters. Improve, approve, and implement the final configuration in production.
  • Optimize the selection of components to limit the diversity of inventories and simplify operations.
  • Advise supply group in the selection of new components and new component suppliers. Have the production tests carried out to demonstrate that the new components are effective, provide an equivalent level of protection to the product and that they are compatible with the process and the equipment.
  • For the acquisition of new packaging equipment, identify needs, recommend, and participate in the choice, acquisition process and commissioning of production equipment.
  • Define the impacts and assess the risks to products during process deviations. Issues disposal recommendations and identifies measures to prevent recurrence (CAPA)
  • Assist, train operators and mechanics in understanding the proper operational execution of technical processes. (Operational guides)
  • Writes and updates task aids and solution guides for packaging issues.
  • Monitor and analyze machine performance.
  • Carries out continuous improvement projects related to packaging. Establish performance indicators (KPI) and implement Lean tools.
Skills, knowledge & abilities:
  • Bilingualism: Fluent in French (oral and written) and English
  • Ability to write and interpret technical documents.
  • Ability to effectively manage time and priorities.
  • Ability to manage multiple files simultaneously.
  • Continuous process improvement approach.
  • Skills in problem solving.
  • Ease to interact and excellent ability to communicate with people.
  • Good aptitude for teamwork.
  • Autonomy
  • Proficient with MS Office.
  • Green Belt Lean Six Sigma certification would be an asset.
Education : Technical/other training
Bachelor

Experience : 3 years: \xe2\x80\xa2 Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar position in packaging in the pharmaceutical, cosmetic or food industry
