Perform direct labour studies and create optimal work combination/line capability charts based on customer pull rates (takt time) and line loading plans for assembly lines. This involves both new lines and current production lines whenever there is a process change or improvement activity
Maintain the Engineering Standards Database and financial standards
Plan daily staffing requirements based on Heijunka volumes
Plan 12 Week staffing forecast based on Master Schedule volumes, informing Ops/ISC of any changes to # shifts and production rates for all line
Create bi-annual 12 Month Operating Plan for labour and capacity planning
Create annual 5 Year Mid-Range Plan for labour and capacity planning
Assist is problem solving of bottlenecks, standard work, and production variation
Develop optimal short term/long term facilities layout plan for all company facilities to minimize material handling and intra-facilities logistics costs, maximize floor space utilization, promote inter-process communication through highly visual WIP/ assembly processes and an overall intuitive top-level material/information flow through the use of TPS rules of simple and direct pulls, work that is specific and standard
Support technology transitions; New program launches / build-outs; Line loading changes; Inter and Intra-plant logistics Kaizen activities
Creating and maintaining project schedules; Creating and maintaining task checklists; Planning and coordinating resources;
Supervising physical moves and resolving issues on-site
Lead monthly layout meetings to provide a forum for space constraint resolution, safety issues, layout communications and feedback from supply chain and assembly groups related to ID/L efficiencies/bottlenecks, parts stores and assembly locations.
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial Engineering Preferred) from a recognized Canadian university or sufficient proof of the equivalency of such a degree.
Experience in 3D CAD design tools with SolidWorks/Catia experience preferred
Must be able to travel both domestically and internationally to support business related activities (Travel to suppliers, customer and TR group companies)
This position requires the successful candidate to have a valid Ontario issued driver's license and passport. The successful candidate would have to provide proof that s/he has a valid Ontario issued driver's license and passport upon being hired.
Seatbelt assembly experience preferred
