About the Role

This is a hands-on, customer-facing technical position where you'll be responsible for the full lifecycle of CNC and laser equipment:

1. Technical Selection

Assess customer needs and recommend the right CNC/laser configuration Offer guidance on tooling, power requirements, extraction, and software Support the sales process with technical expertise
2. Installation & Commissioning

Coordinate machine deliveries and site readiness Perform leveling, alignment, calibration, and test cuts Validate machine performance and ensure safe operation
3. Training

Train operators and supervisors on machine use, maintenance, and safety Provide clear checklists, instructions, and best practices
4. After-Sales Support

Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, software, and optical issues Perform adjustments, replace components, and liaise with manufacturers Maintain long-term, positive customer relationships

Who You Are

Must-Have Skills

Experience installing, operating, or maintaining CNC and laser equipment Strong troubleshooting skills (mechanical, electrical, software) Familiarity with machine controllers such as Ruida, DSP, Mach3/4, or similar CNC controllers. Strong communication and customer service abilities Comfortable with travel across Canada, US, Central and South America (Occasional Travel to China) Able to work independently and solve problems in the field

Nice-to-Haves

Experience with VCarve, LightBurn, RDWorks, Fusion 360, or similar CAM software Knowledge of sign manufacturing or fabrication workflows Experience as a field service technician or applications engineer Ability to build SOPs or training guides

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary

$75,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience

Annual Performance Bonus

$8,000-$12,000 based on:

On-time, issue-free installations Customer satisfaction ratings Efficiency and problem resolution
Additional Perks

Travel per diem ($60-$85/day) All travel expenses covered Health and dental benefits Phone allowance Tool allowance ($500-$1,000/year) Annual training and certification fund ($1,000-$2,000/year)
Travel Requirements

Regular travel throughout Canada and the US for installations, training, and support.
