Job Overview

We are currently looking to add a Technical Service Representative to service our product in Northeastern Ontario.

In this position, you will apply your electrical and mechanical heavy equipment skills to commission, service, troubleshoot and repair shovels in open pit mining environments. Your role will provide support for PLC and DDC upgrades, technology upgrades, software and parameter loading, perform maintenance and preventative maintenance and lend technical support to shovel assemblies. In addition, you will also be required to attend meetings and provide the customer with reports and advice on the maintenance and reliability of their equipment.

Reports to: Operations Manager

Shift: This role will be scheduled on a 14 days on, 14 days off set

Location: Sudbury or Timmins

Relocation: This position does not offer relocation.

Responsibilities
  • Be available for shovel build to commissioning stage, and follow-up repair and service
  • Provide technical support all of our product lines on customers\' sites
  • Research and troubleshoot technical issues
  • Apply mechanical and electrical knowledge to equipment and issues
  • Maintain customer database
  • Interface current field issues with our product support group to assist, rectify and improve repetitive or critical issues
  • Other duties, as assigned
Qualifications
  • Electrical Journeyman certification, dual ticket preferred
  • Technician qualification will be an advantage
  • Able to participate in machine building and commissioning phases of new equipment
  • Understand the operation and function of mining shovels, capable of accurately diagnosing problems and working with PLC\'s and digital drives.
  • Possess proven experience troubleshooting mining machines while working in an outdoor environment plus demonstrated electrical proficiency on high voltage electrical equipment
  • Experience in testing the repaired equipment for proper performance
  • Superior customer service skills and communication skills are required
  • Solid track record in dealing with customers in a technical role
  • Adjust, repair or replace all defective equipment parts, components or systems at customer sites
  • Maintain a safe and clean work environment
  • Willingness to work overtime when required
