Technical Sales Specialist - Key Responsibilities
Account Strategy Development
Contributes to the formulation of strategic sales plans by providing insights into the customer's current operations and long-term objectives.
Sales Target Management
Establishes and recommends sales targets and growth margins for assigned accounts, ensuring achievement through a structured follow-up process.
Account Planning
Leads the creation and execution of comprehensive account plans, including executive relationship strategies, coverage models, opportunity prioritization, and solution targeting. Develops recovery strategies for potential shortfalls.
Customer Relationship Management
Builds and nurtures strategic customer relationships. Serves as the primary contact for issue resolution and claim monitoring. Oversees and facilitates customer negotiations.
Customer Insight & Intelligence
Maintains and shares in-depth knowledge of customer business strategies, procurement behaviors, organizational structures, key decision-makers, market drivers, economic trends, and competitive landscape.
Sales Performance
Drives sales of products, solutions, and services with a focus on volume, product mix, and profitability aligned with Business Unit goals.
Competitive Analysis & Market Monitoring
Tracks competitor activities within accounts and develops responsive strategies. Completes technical cross-references to support competitive positioning.
Value Creation & Sales Coordination
Enhances customer and company value through a unified sales approach, including framework agreements. Aligns communications with Weidmueller's supply capabilities, offerings, and strategic direction.
Marketing Collaboration
Coordinates internal and external resources (e.g., technical experts, advertising, marketing) to deliver value-added services to customers.
Market Development
Identifies and drives new market opportunities within the designated territory. Promotes knowledge sharing and cross-functional collaboration.
Sales Administration
Oversees administrative aspects of the sales process and supports project management and collections as needed.
Proposal & Offer Management
Prepares proposals in collaboration with the bid and proposal team and/or Marketing Manager. Ensures offers meet technical and financial standards, including pricing and trading terms.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Software, or Mechatronics Engineering; diploma or equivalent professional experience also considered
Practical experience with Microsoft Dynamics and SAP ERP systems
Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 and MS Dynamics applications
Programming experience in Ansi C, Structured Text, Ladder Logic, Python, Node-RED, and CodeSys IDE is considered an asset
Successful completion of Engineering Launchpad and Sales Launchpad onboarding programs
