Job Description

The Technical Recruiter is responsible for end-to-end recruitment and workforce coordination supporting site-based operations. This role specializes in sourcing and deploying non-destructive testing (NDT) professionals, rope access technicians, and skilled trades across refineries, plants, outages, turnarounds, and project sites.

Schedule:

Monday - Thursday, 10 hour days. Additional hours may be required during peak project seasons.

Location:

Sherwood Park or Fort McMurray, office-based role.

What You Will Do

Lead full-cycle technical recruitment for NDT professionals, rope access technicians, and skilled trades supporting industrial projects, outages, and turnarounds Partner closely with Operations and HR to manage workforce planning, scheduling, dispatch, and mobilization across unionized and non-unionized environments Draft and prepare offer letters aligned with pay schedules, collective agreements, and compensation policies Build and maintain proactive talent pipelines through job boards, industry partnerships, training providers, and union hiring halls Validate technical skills, certifications, and site-access requirements in collaboration with SMEs Participate in weekly staffing reviews to align workforce demand with available resources Use Dayforce to manage requisitions, onboarding, reporting, and data integrity Ensure certifications, training, and compliance requirements are met prior to mobilization Support recruitment, manpower, and workforce reporting for operational and project needs Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across recruitment and workforce planning

What You Will Bring

Minimum 4+ years of recruitment experience within oil & gas, industrial, inspection, or skilled trades environments. Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or a related field a strong asset; professional designation (CPHR, RPR, or equivalent) is an added bonus. Additional years of industry experience may be considered in lieu of secondary education. Proven experience recruiting in both unionized and non-unionized settings, with working knowledge of collective agreements and dispatch processes. Demonstrated ability to source, assess, and deploy NDT personnel, and rope access technicians is an asset. Practical experience supporting manpower planning, scheduling, and mobilization coordination with operations teams for industrial projects, outages, and turnarounds. Strong understanding of safety and site-access certification requirements (e.g., H2S Alive, CSO/CSTS, WHMIS, Fall Protection) and validation processes. Proficiency with ATS/HCM platforms (Dayforce preferred). Collaborative approach with proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Operations, Safety, and HR teams in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Strong organizational, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in compliance-driven environments
