Job Description


Our Client is looking for a Technical Property Claims Specialist who will be responsible for supporting the National Property Technical Team with coaching on technical matters that may arise on an individual claim or matters that affect the wider Property Claims team. The Coach assists in building and improving the technical capabilities of our Property Claims teams, which equips them to be able to drive an exemplary customer experience by reducing waste within the Property Claims system balanced with the management and control of our spend.

This role can be done remotely from home in Canada, or you may choose WFH hybrid.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide dedicated technical coaching to the National Property Technical Team, and individual team members.
  • Cultivate a coaching culture through building a rapport with the Property Claims team members and creating an open and inviting environment that encourages members of the team to do their best work of their lives
  • Use effective coaching methods and strategies with their teams and individual team members and ensure consistent measurement of progress is captured
  • Evaluate overall technical capability of individual team members, support individual development plans and action identified gaps in capability and implement measures to gauge outcomes
  • Understand the Property Claims system demands and find opportunities to reduce or eliminate waste and failure for our customers.
  • Support succession planning to ensure the organizations long term technical resources are in place for future success
  • Maintain line of sight for potential bad faith exposures
  • Use data and experience to generate insights to determine how to improve overall performance, results and the customer\xe2\x80\x99s journey and initiate improvement activity through to execution
  • Participate in the Quality Assurance Program for the team and identify and ensure any remediation is addressed in a timely and effective manner.
  • Ensure that their teams are in compliance with local regulations
  • Provide authority on commercial and personal lines claims up to $1,500,000
  • Develop technical guidelines and support technical training
  • At times, complete other duties such as assist in handling complex files or supporting the business during a catastrophe or high volume situation
  • Improve the technical capability of NPTT employees
  • Ensure the effective coverage analysis, investigation, quantification, analysis, and adjudication of some of organizations most complex property losses.
  • Granting of authority on individual files based on the individual file merits
  • Continuous improvement of customer experience/outcomes, indemnity and expense excellence
  • Measured demonstration of relevant Regulatory and Legislative compliance
  • Oversight and accountability to ensure that the Property Claims team achieves their goals as it relates to indemnity and expense spend targets and initiatives including reserving adequacy.
  • Supporting the technical development
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS
  • CIP or FCIP Industry designation or other relevant professional insurance qualification
  • University Degree or College Diploma or equivalent Property technical work experience
  • Coaching Courses and Workshops
  • Minimum 10 years of previous experience working in Claims/insurance industry with a strong knowledge of property claims
  • Superior technical competence in Personal and Commercial insurance
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities, coaching and team-building skills
  • Strong communication skills \xe2\x80\x93 ability to communicate diplomatically and empathetically
  • Superior analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills including familiarity with established methodology in the diagnosis of root causes of problems
  • Ability to adopt business strategies and manage ongoing changes
  • Ability to gain insight from data to improve the performance of team
  • Adjusting licenses in Provinces where licensing is a requirement (NB, PE, NL, QC), or willingness to obtain
  • Experience using Xactanalysis, Audatex, Edjuster, Guidewire ClaimsCenter, CoreLogic, Qlik
