Job Summary


We are seeking a skilled Technical Process Engineer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency and product quality. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical engineering principles and experience with various engineering tools and methodologies. The Process Engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that production processes meet safety, quality, and performance standards

Responsibilities and accountabilities

:

Equipment Specification and Installation
Lead the specification, procurement, and commissioning of new equipment (e.g., specifying a 10-color CI Flexo press, installing a new laminator or corona treater).

Maintenance Engineering
Develop and implement technical solutions to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

Troubleshooting Technical Failures
Diagnose and resolve complex equipment breakdowns, such as register control issues on presses, roller alignment problems on slitters, or tension control problems.

Technical Upgrades and Modifications
Plan and execute equipment modernization projects, such as retrofitting presses with updated control systems, upgrading PLCs, or adding new tension and surface treatment systems.

Calibration and Alignment
Ensure that equipment is properly calibrated and aligned to meet operational specifications, tolerances, and quality standards.

Preventative Maintenance Programs
Collaborate with OEMs and internal teams to develop, implement, and oversee preventative maintenance schedules and programs.

Technical Documentation and Training
Develop and maintain technical documentation (manuals, SOPs, set-up and changeover guides) and deliver formal and informal technical training to operators, supervisors, and maintenance personnel.

Support Continuous Improvement
Identify and implement technical enhancements and process optimizations to improve equipment performance, product quality, reduce waste, and lower operational costs.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, Scheduling, and OEM partners to define, develop, and sustain optimal equipment performance and job consistency.

Health & Safety Compliance
Adhere to and help enforce all Quality, Health, and Safety policies and procedures when working on or commissioning equipment, and proactively contribute to safe working practices.

Other Duties as Assigned
Perform any other related technical duties as assigned by management.

Provide technical support during the installation of new equipment or systems.

Qualifications



Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent technical field) preferred. Minimum 3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred with at least 2 years in flexible packaging. Strong technical knowledge of flexible packaging equipment: flexographic presses, pouch machines, laminators, slitters, treaters. Hands-on experience with machine troubleshooting, upgrades, and maintenance engineering. Familiarity with PLCs, control systems, and mechanical alignment. Good understanding of quality standards in flexible packaging. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Familiarity with CAD software Proficiency with Microsoft Office and ability to work with technical documentation.

Pay: $65,034.09-$95,981.89 per year
