You will work alongside Partners across the Capital Projects, Regulatory and Permitting, and Mine Closure teams in building ERM\xe2\x80\x99s position as a leading technical advisor for the mining and metals and energy sectors.

ABOUT THE SERVICE AREA

Environmental liabilities, which are a part of almost every company\xe2\x80\x99s asset portfolio and balance sheet, present our clients with regulatory, technical risk and social complexities that heighten risk and potentially reduce asset value. Throughout a company\xe2\x80\x99s asset life cycle, ERM helps our clients manage these risks through strategic approaches, digital applications and best-fit technical methods that identify, assess and manage environmental liabilities. Through cross-functional strategic engagement, we work to transform environmental liabilities and legacy assets into a risk-adjusted portfolio, which supports favorable outcomes, alignment to sustainability goals, and social acceptance.

We do this by actively engaging with client teams to understand and respond to their specific and evolving needs and obligations through an end-to-end integration of site investigation, remediation, and asset decommissioning and retirement processes. We help our clients with:
  • Asset and portfolio management.
  • Options analysis and exit strategy.
  • Digital data collection, analysis, and portfolio dashboarding.
  • Liability assessments.
  • Asset retirement and/or redevelopment.
  • Regulatory adaptation strategies.
  • Litigation support.
  • Portfolio risk management for emerging issues such as new contaminants, regulatory changes, and stakeholder concern.

ROLE PROFILE:
  • Primary focus on client relationship development, sales, and delivery of the full spectrum of ERM\xe2\x80\x99s consulting services to deliver technical excellence to our clients across multiple sectors. In particular, play a key role in leading and growing ERM\xe2\x80\x99s existing LPMR business across a broad portfolio of sustainable service offerings:
+ Serve as Subject Matter Expert to Direct and develop complex ecological risk assessment, site investigation and remediation projects with multi-person project teams.
+ Collaborate with other ERM global practitioners to execute site investigation and remediation projects, including participating on teams comprised of SIRA professionals from multiple offices around the global organization.
+ Human health and ecological risk assessments.
+ Remediation portfolio and reserve assessments.
+ Sediment management and remediation.
+ Brownfields redevelopment.
+ Decommissioning, Decontamination and Demolition (DDD).
+ Remedial alternatives evaluations and pilot testing.
+ Remediation engineering and construction management.
+ Ecological Risk Assessment and site investigation/remediation and recognized technical expertise by the marketplace
  • Build, grow, and manage a high-performance team, serving as a leader and mentor to consultants. Identify emerging talent and work with staff to reach their full potential; ensure rising stars are nurtured, developed and given new areas of responsibility.
  • Meet business financial targets, overall project budget and schedule, client satisfaction/expectations, and internal and contract requirements.
  • Work in a collaborative, cross-functional team environment to build ERM\xe2\x80\x99s global business, as well as to lead client and technical teams.
  • Provide business value selling at the top levels of client organizations, raising the profile of ERM\xe2\x80\x99s capabilities within key client organizations, to identify and shape clients\xe2\x80\x99 needs for ERM services.
  • Maintain pulse on industry business cycles and prioritize sales efforts toward high-potential, top opportunities.
  • Manage capture efforts utilizing technical understanding to develop proposals, including written content, pricing, presentations, contracting.
  • Support the growth and development of ERM\xe2\x80\x99s global LPMR service area and actively collaborate with colleagues across the globe. Drive innovation within our technical communities to stay ahead of client needs and to differentiate ERM in the market.
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • BS in engineering, geology, science, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred.
  • 15+ years\xe2\x80\x99 progressive remediation experience in a consulting environment, working substantially with industrial clients; preferably with strong experience in the mining sector along with experience and knowledge of the manufacturing, chemical, diversified energy, power, transportation, pharmaceutical and/or technology sectors.
  • In-depth understanding of contaminated land management challenges in the targeted geographies.
  • Demonstrable track record providing high-value service and technical solutions to Fortune 500 clients.
  • Business acumen to understand business risk and challenges and recognize corporate opportunities.
  • Demonstrable track record in delivering multimillion dollar sales results annually, including successfully winning large and strategic projects.
  • Offer recognized technical expertise and an established reputation in the local marketplace.
  • Certification such as P.Eng, P.Geo, RPBio or similar designation in your field will be an asset.
