This mid-level role is ideal for a Certified Engineering Technologist (CET) with 3-7 years of experience in the ready-mix concrete industry. You will independently manage technical services and daily operations, ensuring efficient production, timely deliveries, and consistent product quality. You will lead small teams, coordinate logistics, and optimize processes while maintaining high standards of safety and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service & Technical Support
- Independently respond to customer inquiries and resolve technical issues.
- Provide detailed product information and application support.
- Collaborate with Sales and Operations teams to understand and meet customer needs.
- Document and report customer feedback and technical observations.
Order Management & Dispatch
- Manage the order entry process for concrete and related materials.
- Confirm order details and input data accurately into dispatch systems.
- Coordinate truck dispatch and monitor delivery schedules.
- Adjust schedules based on availability and customer priorities.
Concrete Testing & Quality Control
- Conduct on-site and plant-based concrete tests (e.g., slump, air content).
- Prepare and label test cylinders for lab analysis.
- Observe finishing practices and document third-party testing.
- Communicate test results to supervisors and address quality concerns.
Project & Process Support
- Lead product trials and process improvement initiatives.
- Attend technical meetings and contribute observations and data.
- Ensure safety compliance and operational coordination efforts.
Qualifications
- CET designation (Certified Engineering Technologist) required.
- 3-7 years of experience in construction, concrete, or related technical field.
- ACI Grade I Concrete Technician certification is an asset.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office; familiarity with dispatch/order systems is a plus.
- Strong communication, organization, and time management skills.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
- Frequent standing, walking, stooping, and kneeling; occasional extended sitting.
- Work in office, plant, and field environments with exposure to weather, noise, and mechanical parts.
- PPE required on-site (safety boots, hard hats, high-visibility clothing).
- Flexibility for early mornings, extended hours, and occasional weekend shifts.
