Role Overview



We are seeking a

Technical Manager

to lead and develop our technical team. This individual will manage a team of five (with plans to expand), oversee technical design principles, ensure tool functionality, and drive product development initiatives. The Technical Manager will play a critical role in aligning technical operations with business goals and ensuring excellence in design and production.

Key Responsibilities



Team Leadership & Planning

Manage and prioritize daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual tasks for the technical team. Provide guidance and mentorship to a team of 5 (Cattle Handling Product Specialist, Ventilation Production Specialist/External Project Coordinator, and 2 Draftsmen and a Product Manager). Collaborate with Operations Manager to set goals and monitor progress.
Design & Development

Develop and implement design principles for new product development on the steel side of the business. Work closely with vendors to obtain technical documentation for distributed products. Support Product Manager in developing new products and rationalizing product lines.
Technical Tools & Systems

Oversee and maintain all design tools, including AutoCAD Revit LT Suite, Inventor Professional, and Vault PLM. Ensure tools are functional, updated, and optimized for team use.
Process Improvement

Lead production rationalization initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce costs. Identify opportunities for technical innovation and continuous improvement.

Qualifications



Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, or related field (or equivalent experience). 5+ years of experience in technical management or engineering leadership roles. Proficiency in AutoCAD, Inventor Professional, and PLM systems. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and product development. Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. Experience in agricultural or livestock equipment industry is an asset.

Pay: $85,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
