THE DEPARTMENT


The following teams make up the Technology department: Business Analysis and Quality Assurance, Applications Development, Applications Support, and Engineering. The group is responsible for developing, maintaining and optimizing the company's technology platforms, while ensuring seamless operations across global regions (US, UK, AUS and Europe). The team drives software development, integrations, automation while also supporting localized IT needs, service delivery, business continuity and compliance. This team plays a critical role in ensuring technology innovation is aligned with business strategy, delivering seamless IT experiences while supporting global operations.

THE ROLE




Working with a globally distributed team, the Tech Lead will act as the design authority and will have technical oversite across a set of global applications. The Tech Lead will collaborate with other senior technical leaders and contribute to the overall technical vision of the organization. The role requires a senior developer who is proficient at delivering complex applications, breaking down barriers for the team(s), planning at a higher level and collaborating with senior management to define the technical direction for the global applications. The Tech Lead is required to help with defining the overall architecture with design and development, ensuring end to end functionality supports the evolution of the business for 24/7 uptime. The role is heavily involved in planning product development, creating and managing effective timelines, offering feedback to solution leaders and business units and communicating with top managers to ensure the goals of the department are aligned and achievable.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop, drive, and align architectural design and strategy across a set of global applications. Contribute to a DevOps culture and development of continuous integration processes and tools. Mentor and cross-train as needed to support or back up team members. Achieve the goals defined in strategic initiatives. Participate in Scrum events such as planning, stand-ups, demos and retrospectives. Lead story breakdowns, estimation, planning, and code review. Execute system design, development and system integration. Investigate and resolve complex or emergent operational problems. Identify any impediments to the progress of the strategic initiatives. Peer review other developers code. Collaborate effectively with other Development team members. Support and manage GDPR and other data policy regulations

CORE COMPETENCIES

The preferred candidate has experience in the followingTravel sector experience Minimum 10 years' experience working as a software developer with at least 3 years' experience leading other developers Ability to work with diverse and inclusive teams to deliver quality outcomes. Excellent analytical skills for both business and technology solutions, including the ability to articulate complexity in a clear concise manner Strong business sense and sense of urgency to achieve business results. A history of good decisions and resolving issues quickly. Aptitude to learn and make positive impacts quickly Strong team player with ability to successful collaborate with geographically distributed teams Professional Scrum Developer (or related) Agile certifications.

Required Technical Skills:

Development Frameworks - Microsoft .Net 4, C#, ASP.Net, MVC, Angular, WCF, WebAPI 2.2, WinForms, Linq, Entity Framework 5, or later Database - Oracle, Oracle SQL, PLSQL Web/E-Commerce - XML, HTML 5, JavaScript, CSS 3, J-Query Application Tools - Visual Studio 2013/2015, IIS, TFS Desktop Software - Microsoft Office Suite Operating System - Windows Software concepts and patterns - Object Oriented, Relational Database Design. N-Tier Design Experience developing rich internet applications using HTML5/CSS3/JavaScript Strong Continuous Integration and Deployment experience using Azure DevOps and Azure Kubernetes Strong understanding of web standards (http protocols, browser, html, etc.) Leadership and experience planning and implementing web centric software architecture (front to back end)

Preferred Technical Skills:

Development Frameworks - WCF, WebAPI 2.2, WinForms, Linq, ADO Database - Microsoft SQL Server TSQL, NoSQL Web/E-Commerce - Knockout Desktop Software - TOAD Software concepts and patterns - SOA, PubSub, Messaging BUS, Test Driven Development. Experience with cloud database provider and NoSQL Databases (Mongo, CosmosDB etc.) Functional knowledge of Power Platform with a strong focus on Power Automate and Power BI Understanding of version control, continuous integration, and deployment tools Experience with Credit Card Payment Processing
