Job Summary

Exegy is hiring a Technical Engineering Lead, C++ for our Montreal office to lead the development of ultra-low latency, high-performance systems used by leading financial institutions. You'll provide technical leadership across projects, mentor a team of engineers, and shape the architecture and delivery of complex, mission-critical systems.

Responsibilities

Drive architecture and technical direction for performance-sensitive C++ systems Lead design discussions, code reviews, and implementation planning Mentor and coach a team of engineers; support their technical and professional growth Partner with product and engineering leaders to align technical solutions with business needs Own reliability, scalability, and maintainability of production systems Analyze, debug, and improve system performance in latency-critical environments Contribute to hiring and team-building efforts; foster a culture of technical excellence

Our Ideal Candidate Has:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field 7+ years of experience in C++ software development, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role Deep understanding of concurrent programming, system performance, and low-latency design Proven experience guiding teams through the full software development lifecycle Proficiency with Linux development and debugging tools Experience in capital markets, financial data distribution, or algorithmic trading platforms is highly desirable Strong communication and collaboration across technical and non-technical teams Fluent in both French and English (written and spoken) * Ability to work in a hybrid environment with presence in the Montreal office
