Overview:

The Technical Editor II expertly edits documents per client/Synchrogenix specifications, templates, style guides and other guidance documents. The Technical Editor II is able to quickly and accurately switch from one client specification to another and work with multiple internal writing teams simultaneously. The Technical Editor II is able to communicate directly with clients and provide leadership within internal review teams.

Demonstrate strong proficiency with quality control review, including verification of document against source, verification of internal consistency, verification of grammar based on understanding of grammar rules and begin to train others in this knowledge Expertly perform formatting techniques consistent with company guidelines, including but not limited to application of styles, table insertion, figure creation, document appearance, and document navigation such as Table of Contents and cross references Perform leadership tasks with clients who request completion of quality control tasks including but not limited to: + communicating with client/client teams regarding projects, timelines, and deliverable expectations
+ liaising with KAM regarding quality control projects
+ Coordinating resources to complete quality control tasks to ensure appropriate instruction is provide, prioritized as appropriate, to drive the request to completion
+ providing appropriate instruction to quality control team
Proficiency in techniques to offer services to a client directly in their systems performing simple tasks (as a super user) Basic understanding of the requirements for submission-ready documents and the submission structure; has a basic understanding of the guidance that dictates the placement of documents in the submission Basic understanding of the lead activities specific to the technical aspects of a service line other than Document Quality; can perform with supervision/guidance Mentor more junior staff to become more proficient in quality control review and publishing tasks

Education, Experience, Training, and Knowledge:



Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism, scientific discipline or related field ELS certification desired, but not required Strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2-4 years of prior related experience; highly skilled, talented and motivated candidates will be considered Background in pharmaceuticals and/or science and technical industries is preferred Understanding of GXP, ICH E3, eCTD, and AMA style guidance and version control, Word template Proven success in team-based environment

Basic understanding in Synchrogenix processes that impact the quality service line Understand the fundamental aspects of communication theory and practice Communicate clear, concise and relevant information in an appropriate business format Ability to synthesize data and present it in a written format Ability to work in a collaborative environment and be tolerant of some degree of ambiguity, easily build relationships with others Ability to independently understand expectations for projects with a proactive approach and little need for detailed instructions Is action and detail oriented, always seeking new development opportunities to build knowledge and skills Demonstrate solid time management skills Show flexibility to meet project needs as required by deadlines and meet corporate goals and objectives Remain knowledgeable of changes in the industry and adapt best practices Maintain high ethical and quality standards as defined in the Employee Manual
