This is a leadership role for someone who thrives in problem-solving, adapts to evolving challenges, and is motivated by the daily pursuit of improvement & success.

The Technical Director will report directly to the Executive Director and be responsible for leading and managing all technical programming at the club. This includes player development, coach education, program structure, evaluation systems, and building a strong football pathway & identity across all age groups.

The successful candidate will work closely with age-group leads, program managers & coaching staff to ensure that Suburban FC's game model, training curriculums, and overall development pathway reflect the highest of standards and the needs of our membership.

Key Responsibilities



Program Oversight & Player Pathway

Oversee technical planning and implementation across all ages & stages Guide the creation and rollout of the Club Game Model and ensure consistent use across teams and age groups. Collaborate with program leads to develop and update training curriculums that align with the club's philosophy. Establish a player evaluation system and tracking database to monitor player growth and development over time. Support the organization of seasonal schedules, ID processes, field usage, and technical planning.
Coach Recruitment & Development

Recruit and onboard coaches (volunteer and paid) across all levels of the club. Manage the SFC Coach Development Program, offering mentorship, resources, and certification support. Oversee contracts, budgets, and administrative responsibilities related to coaching staff. Provide regular feedback and performance support to all coaches. Develop a coach pathway plan that encourages retention and growth within the club.
Membership, Culture & Education

Lead with clarity and integrity, setting a high standard for technical staff and program delivery. Support and evolve the Suburban FC Leadership Academy, helping to develop future leaders within the club. Deliver educational sessions to parents, players, and staff to build shared understanding and connection. Contribute to building and sustaining a passionate football club culture, on & off the field.
Departmental Growth & Alignment

Work with the Executive Director to plan technical budgets, organize professional development opportunities, and support club-wide initiatives. Ensure all technical staff meet the required qualifications outlined by Canada Soccer's Club Licensing & SFC club standards Maintain regular staff meetings and contribute to board reporting and long-term planning.

Qualifications



Canada Soccer and/or CONCACAF B Licence (preferred / or in progress) Canada Soccer Children's Diploma (preferred / or in progress) 6+ years of Coaching or Technical Leadership experience across multiple age groups. Familiarity with Canada Soccer's Long-Term Player Development and Club Licensing. NCCP Learning Facilitator Certification (preferred) Legally eligible / permitted to work in Canada Clean background check and completion of Safe Sport Roster requirements.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
