. This Fixed Term Recurring Part-time position is for approximately 6 months (based on length of grant funding), with the possibility of extension.
This position reports to the Manager, Continuing Medical Education & Professional Development.
The Technical Assistant will work closely with the Innovation and CME teams, as well as faculty and registrants to provide professional and technical support to primarily synchronous online educational events. Due to the dynamic nature of course and program deliveries, there will be variable hours assigned.
This is a recurring part-time position. Recurring Part-time employees are hourly employees engaged to perform work on an irregular schedule.
Summary of Key Responsibilities
(job functions include but are not limited to):
Provide basic tech support to the delivery of CME&PD virtual courses
+ Coordinating with course registration team
+ Pre course: assigning streaming channels, preparing for interactivity, etc.
+ Leading or supporting dry runs as required
+ Day-of: responding to registrants' email inquiries; hosting, recording the course live sessions;
+ Assisting teaching faculty in virtual course sessions including setting up groups, tracking the chat window, slide sharing and interactivities such as breakout groups, polling, whiteboard, etc.
+ Post course: validating attendee list and tracking course attendance, handling session recordings, etc. Develop and/or edit web-based written, audio and video materials with the guidance of education consultant and subject matter experts
Update and maintain web content/design, especially on the Drupal 8 site
Support to communications functions as required
Ability to interpret the needs of others, particularly those with a non-technical background
Ability to train faculty and staff in the use of learning technologies
Ability to take direction and receive constructive feedback
Excellent time management skills, including response time to emails and requests
Qualifications / Requirements:
Bachelors degree required
Exposure to distant classroom setting in adult education is an asset
Working knowledge and experience with: video conferencing, web conferencing and webinar; online survey platform(s) Require
Basic audio and video editing, as well as in basic web content management, Marketo and other software, as well as social media Required
Well-developed organizational skills and attention to detail with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
Comfortable in a fast paced, dynamic work environment
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills displaying professionalism, tact and diplomacy
