We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Committee Lead at UL Standards and Engagement.

This is a hybrid role open to Ottawa, Canada, Northbrook, IL, or Raleigh, NC.

The Technical Committee Lead will be responsible for a portfolio of UL and/or ULC Standards and will lead the Standards Technical Committees. The Standards TC Chair will primarily function in the role of the TC Chair and will manage the day-to-day standards activities for the assigned standards in accordance with policies and procedures.

What you\'ll learn & achieve:

As the Technical Committee Lead, you will play a key role in the rapid growth of UL Standards and Engagement as you:

• As Chair for TCs, manage the day-to-day standards activities related to the standards development process, including the review of new proposals, review of standards documents, facilitating meetings, and other related documents. Also responsible to maintaining effectively balanced consensus bodies.
• Serve as Chair for Technical Committees (TC).
• Help build and maintain relationships with all stakeholders relative to assigned industries. Facilitates the development of consensus within the stakeholder body by engaging all interests to identify solutions that have broad support.

• Guides stakeholder, external chairs as appropriate, and internal standards project managers and provides expertise related to the standards development process and general operating procedures. This includes providing mentorship to project managers in the fulfillment of their responsibilities.
• Develop a working knowledge of the technical attributes, function, and standards requirements of the products in the assigned standards.
• Help drive the harmonization and adoption of safety requirements across component and end-product standards.
• Assist with the facilitation and implementation of the goals and strategies related to the assigned standards. Assists in managing the assigned industries to accomplish strategic and operational goals. Also assists in researching marketplace issues within area of responsibility to identify current trends and needs of stakeholders.
• Drive the standards process to develop and maintain standards that effectively mitigate identified hazards in fulfillment of UL Standards & Engagement\xe2\x80\x99s mission, that fully reflect current technologies and current marketplace issues, and that are developed with consideration of associated codes and regulations.
• Report to the Program Manager.
• Perform other duties as directed.

Professional education and experience requirements for the role include:

• 4 year degree in applied science, physical science, engineering, or other technology/related discipline.
• Minimum of six years of directly related standards development work experience.
